حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ الْخَيْرِ الزِّيَادِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَبِيلٍ الْمَعَافِرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَيْسَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي مَنْ لَمْ يُجِلَّ كَبِيرَنَا ، وَيَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا ، وَيَعْرِفْ لِعَالِمِنَا حَقَّهُ " , قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ هَارُونَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: He is not from my Ummah who does not honor our elders, show mercy to our young ones, and recognize the status of a scholar.
