حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَفَلَ فِي الْبَدَاءَةِ الرُّبُعَ ، وَفِي الرَّجْعَةِ الثُّلُثَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed one-fourth of the spoils of war as a reward in the villages, and upon return, he distributed one-third. Benefit: For complete explanation, see Hadith number 23142.
