Hadith 22724

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying that gold should be exchanged for gold and silver for silver in equal amounts. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) specifically mentioned salt as well. Hazrat Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said regarding Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he cannot say anything from his own side. Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "By Allah! I do not care if I am not in the area where Hazrat Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) is. I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying this in the same way and I bear witness to it."
