حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقُ يَعْنِي الْفَزَارِيَّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَدُّوا الْخَيْطَ وَالْمَخِيطَ ، وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالْغُلُولَ ، فَإِنَّهُ عَارٌ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Even if it is a thread, return it, and avoid dishonesty in the spoils of war, for this will be a source of shame for the dishonest person on the Day of Resurrection.
