حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ , وَحُمَيْدٌ , عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَن ْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْبِرَهُمْ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " فَاطْلُبُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ فِي تَاسِعَةٍ أَوْ سَابِعَةٍ أَوْ خَامِسَةٍ ".
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to inform us about the Night of Qadr, but two men were arguing with each other. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I came out to inform you about the Night of Qadr, but two men were arguing with each other, so its determination was lifted because of that. It may be that this is better for you. Seek the Night of Qadr in the ninth, seventh, and fifth nights (of the last ten days).
