Hadith 226

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ : أَنَّ عُمَرَ قَبَّلَ الْحَجَرَ ، ثُمّ قَالَ : " قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّكَ حَجَرٌ ، وَلَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبَّلَكَ ، مَا قَبَّلْتُكَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that once Sayyiduna Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, kissed the Black Stone and addressing it said: I know that you are a stone; if I had not seen the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, kissing you, I would never have kissed you.
