Hadith 22574

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he was traveling with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I saw a wild donkey, so I quickly mounted my horse, took my spear, and hunted it. Some of the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) who were in the state of Ihram ate from it, and later they became fearful. I or someone else asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Did you signal? Or assist? Or lie in wait?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "No." So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted them to eat it.
