Hadith 22525

Abu Salamah, may Allah have mercy on him, says that sometimes I used to see frightening dreams, but I did not let them become a burden on me until one day I met Hazrat Abu Qatadah, may Allah be pleased with him. I mentioned this to him, so he narrated this hadith to me: The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Good dreams are from Allah and bad dreams are from Satan. Therefore, whoever sees a disliked dream should not mention it to anyone. Rather, after seeing the dream, he should spit lightly three times to his left and seek refuge in Allah from its evil. In this way, the dream will not harm him."
