حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ : النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَفَقَةُ الرَّجُلِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ يَحْتَسِبُهَا ، صَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a Muslim spends something on his family and intends to earn reward, then that spending is also charity.
