Hadith 22346

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) encouraged charity and almsgiving, one of us would go and work as a laborer and earn one mudd, and he would bring it and give it in charity. Whereas today, some of them possess hundreds of thousands of rupees. The narrator of the hadith, Shaqiq (may Allah have mercy on him), says that perhaps by this he was referring to himself.
