حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ , عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ , عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَالِكٍ , قَالَ : دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ الْمَسْجِدَ فَصَلَّى , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا رَجُلٌ يَتَصَدَّقُ عَلَى هَذَا فَيُصَلِّيَ مَعَهُ ؟ " , قَالَ : فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَصَلَّى مَعَهُ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَذَانِ جَمَاعَةٌ " . حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ , عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ , عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ , وَقَالَ : " هَذَانِ جَمَاعَةٌ ".
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man praying alone and said, "Is there anyone who will give charity to him, that is, join him in prayer?" Upon hearing this, a man stood up and began to pray with him. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "These two have become a congregation."
