It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the day of the Battle of the Trench, the Muslims killed a man from among the polytheists. The polytheists began to offer wealth and riches in order to retrieve his corpse, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hand over his corpse to them as it is; it is a filthy corpse and its blood money is also impure." Thus, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not take anything from them in exchange for it.
