Hadith 22272

Abu Muslim says that once I went to Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) and he was sitting in the mosque, picking out lice and putting them into pebbles. I said to him, "O Abu Umamah! A man has told me regarding you that you say: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say that whoever performs ablution well, washes his hands and face, wipes his head and ears, then stands for the obligatory prayer, then on that day his sins will be forgiven—those to which he walked with his feet, those he committed with his hands, those his ears heard, those his eyes saw, and those thoughts that occurred in his heart?" He replied, "By Allah! I have heard this hadith from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) so many times that I cannot count."
