حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ , عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ , عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا جَاءَنِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام قَطُّ , إِلَّا أَمَرَنِي بِالسِّوَاكِ , لَقَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ أُحْفِيَ مُقَدَّمَ فِيَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whenever Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me, he always instructed me to use the miswak, to the extent that I feared I would scrape off the front part of my mouth.
