حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , حَدَّثنَا سفيان , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَهْرَامَ , عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ , عَنْ مُعَاذٍ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " ثَكِلَتْكَ أُمُّكَ , وَهَلْ يَكُبُّ النَّاسَ عَلَى مَنَاخِرِهِمْ فِي جَهَنَّمَ إِلَّا حَصَائِدُ أَلْسِنَتِهِمْ ؟ ! " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said (reproaching affectionately), "Mu'adh! May your mother weep for you, will anything else throw people on their faces into Hell except the words they utter about others?"
