حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ , حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ , حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو زِيَادٍ يَحْيَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْغَسَّانِيُّ , عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ قُطَيْبٍ , عَنْ مُعَاذٍ , أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ : بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ , فَقَالَ : " لَعَلَّكَ أَنْ تَمُرَّ بِقَبْرِي وَمَسْجِدِي , وَقَدْ بَعَثْتُكَ إِلَى قَوْمٍ رَقِيقَةٍ قُلُوبُهُمْ , يُقَاتِلُونَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ مَرَّتَيْنِ , فَقَاتِلْ بِمَنْ أَطَاعَكَ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ عَصَاكَ , ثُمَّ يَعُودُونَ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ حَتَّى تُبَادِرَ الْمَرْأَةُ زَوْجَهَا , وَالْوَلَدُ وَالِدَهُ , وَالْأَخُ أَخَاهُ , فَانْزِلْ بَيْنَ الْحَيَّيْنِ السَّكُونَ وَالسَّكَاسِكَ " .
Hazrat Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me to Yemen, he said: "In the future, you will pass by my grave and my mosque. I am sending you to a people who are tender-hearted, and they will fight twice for the sake of truth. Therefore, those who obey you, take them along and fight against those who disobey you. Then those people will return to Islam to such an extent that a woman will surpass her husband, a son his father, and a brother his brother. And you should camp among the tribes named 'Sakoon' and 'Sakāsik'."
