حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى , قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ الْحَكَمُ بن موسى , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَيَّاشٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ , عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ , عَنْ مُعَاذٍ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَنْ يَنْفَعَ حَذَرٌ مِنْ قَدَرٍ , وَلَكِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ يَنْفَعُ مِمَّا نَزَلَ وَمِمَّا لَمْ يَنْزِلْ , فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالدُّعَاءِ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Planning and precaution are of no benefit against destiny, but supplication is beneficial for things that have descended and for things that have not descended. Therefore, O servants of Allah! Make supplication obligatory upon yourselves.
