It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the verdict regarding the child of the woman who performed li'an that "the child of this woman should not be attributed to the father, and whoever accuses her or her child, he will be punished." Also, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave this verdict that "the residence of this woman is not the responsibility of her husband, nor is her maintenance," because the separation between them occurred without divorce or death.
