It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Waqid Al-Laithi (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, there were some people there who used to cut off the rumps of goats and the humps of camels. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever part of the animal's body is cut off from a living animal, it is considered carrion (dead meat)."
