Hadith 21809

Ibn Jurayj says that I asked Ata: Did you hear Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) saying that you have been commanded to perform Tawaf, not to enter the House (Ka'bah)? He said: They did not prohibit entering it, but I heard him say: Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) informed me that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the Sacred House (Baytullah), he supplicated in all its corners, but did not pray there. Rather, he came out and, facing the Ka'bah, prayed two rak'ahs and said: This is the Qiblah.
