حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ , عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ هَذَا الْوَبَاءَ رِجْزٌ , أَهْلَكَ اللَّهُ بِهِ الْأُمَمَ قَبْلَكُمْ , وَقَدْ بَقِيَ مِنْهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ شَيْءٌ يَجِيءُ أَحْيَانًا , وَيَذْهَبُ أَحْيَانًا , فَإِذَا وَقَعَ بِأَرْضٍ فَلَا تَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا , وَإِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِهِ فِي أَرْضٍ فَلَا تَأْتُوهَا " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Plague is a punishment which Allah the Exalted sent upon the people before you (the Children of Israel). Sometimes it comes and sometimes it goes. Therefore, if this epidemic spreads in a region, do not go into that region, and if it spreads in a region where you are already present, do not flee from it by leaving that place.
