It is narrated from Hazrat Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) that once (the granddaughter of the Prophet) Umaymah bint Zainab was brought to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), her soul was departing as if it were in a waterskin. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What has been taken also belongs to Allah, and what has been given also belongs to Allah, and everything has an appointed time with Him." Tears began to flow from the eyes of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Seeing this, Hazrat Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Are you also weeping?" He replied, "This is mercy which Allah places in the hearts of whichever of His servants He wills, and Allah shows mercy only to those of His servants who are merciful."
