حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمٌ , قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ , عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " أَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام لَمَّا نَزَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَعَلَّمَهُ الْوُضُوءَ , فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ وُضُوئِهِ , أَخَذَ حَفْنَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ فَرَشَّ بِهَا نَحْوَ الْفَرْجِ , قَالَ : فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرُشُّ بَعْدَ وُضُوئِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) descended with revelation upon the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he also taught the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) how to perform ablution. And when he finished ablution, he took a handful of water and sprinkled it near his private part. Therefore, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would also do the same after ablution.
