حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، وَعَطِيَّةَ ، وَضَمْرَةَ ، وَرَاشِدٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ زَوْجٍ ، وَأُخْتٍ لِأُمٍّ وَأَبٍ ، فَأَعْطَى الزَّوْجَ النِّصْفَ وَالْأُخْتَ النِّصْفَ ، فَكُلِّمَ فِي ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ حَضَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَضَى بِذَلِكَ .
Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the issue of inheritance: A woman passed away whose heirs were a husband and a full sister. He gave half of the wealth to the husband and the other half to the sister. Someone spoke to him about this, so he said: Once I was present in the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he also gave the same verdict.
