حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ : أَلَمْ أَرَكَ اللَّيْلَةَ خَفَّفْتَ الْقِرَاءَةَ فِي سَجْدَتَيْ الْمَغْرِبِ ؟ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيَقْرَأُ فِيهِمَا بِطُولَى الطُّولَيَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once said to Marwan, "I see that you have led the Maghrib prayer very briefly. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, I have heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting Surah Al-A'raf in the Maghrib prayer."
