ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2159

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّفَرِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ شُفَيٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : جَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَسْأَلُونَهُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي السَّفَرِ ، فَقَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ لَمْ يُصَلِّ إِلَّا رَكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once some people began to ask him about the prayer during travel. He replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), after leaving his home, would continue to perform two rak‘ahs (shortened prayer) until he returned home.
