حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيٌّ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمَرَ ، وَكَانَ وَاصِلٌ رُبَّمَا ذَكَرَ أَبَا الْأَسْوَدِ الدِّيْلِيَّ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " عُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ أَعْمَالُ أُمَّتِي حَسَنُهَا وَسَيِّئُهَا ، فَوَجَدْتُ فِي مَحَاسِنِ أَعْمَالِهَا الْأَذَى يُمَاطُ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ ، وَوَجَدْتُ فِي مَسَاوِئِ أَعْمَالِهَا النُّخَاعَةَ تَكُونُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لَا تُدْفَنُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The good and bad deeds of my Ummah were presented before me. Among the list of good deeds, I saw the removal of a harmful thing from the road, and among the list of bad deeds, I saw spitting inside the mosque without mixing it into the soil.
