It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to the presence of the Messenger and said: O Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I have become very old, I am also ill, and standing (in prayer) is very difficult for me. Please tell me a night in which there is a possibility of attaining Laylat al-Qadr from Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Hold fast to the seventh night of the last ten (i.e., the 27th night).”
