حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، وَعَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا دَيْلَمُ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ الْعَطَّارُ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ أَبِي دُبَيٍّ ، قَالَ عَفَّانُ : حَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ أَبِي حَرْبِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ مِحْجَنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْعَيْنَ لَتُولِعُ الرَّجُلَ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ، يَتَصَعَّدُ حَالِقًا ثُمَّ يَتَرَدَّى مِنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By the will of Allah, a person's eye becomes so enamored with something that he keeps climbing upon the thing to be shaved, then a time comes when he falls down from it.
