حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، وَهَاشِمٌ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ هَاشِمٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الْقَوْمَ وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ كَعَمَلِهِمْ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْتَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ " ، قُلْتُ : فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ، قَالَ : " فَأَنْتَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ " ، قَالَ هَاشِمٌ ، قَالَهَا لَهُ : ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ " أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I submitted in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, "O Messenger of Allah! A man loves a certain people but cannot perform deeds like theirs. What is his status?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), you will be with those whom you love." I said, "Then I love Allah and His Messenger." He repeated this sentence not once, but three times.
