حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، سَمِعَ أَبَا ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ خَلِيلِي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ : " أَيُّمَا ذَهَبٍ أَوْ فِضَّةٍ أُوكِيَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَهُوَ كَيٌّ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ حَتَّى يُفْرِغَهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِفْرَاغًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that my beloved friend (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me that any gold or silver that is stored and sealed will be a spark of fire for its owner until he spends it in the way of Allah.
