Hadith 21348

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was drinking water at his pond when some people came, and one of them said, "Who among you will go to Abu Dharr and pull out the hair of his head?" A man volunteered himself and, approaching the pond, struck him. Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) was standing; first he sat down, then he lay down. Someone asked him, "O Abu Dharr! Why did you first sit and then lie down?" He replied, "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told us that when any of you becomes angry while standing, he should sit down. If the anger goes away, that is very good; otherwise, he should lie down."
