Abu Al-Aliyah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Ubaidullah bin Ziyad delayed a prayer from its appointed time. I asked Abdullah bin Samit (may Allah have mercy on him) about this, so he struck my thigh with his hand and said: I asked this same question to my friend Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), and he struck my thigh with his hand and said: I asked this same question to my beloved (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: Perform the prayer at its appointed time. If you have to join these people (in prayer), then pray with them again (with the intention of nafl). Do not say, "I have already prayed, so I will not pray now."
