Hadith 213

(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَئِنْ عِشْتُ إِلَى هَذَا الْعَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ ، لَا يُفْتَحُ لِلنَّاسِ قَرْيَةٌ إِلَّا قَسَمْتُهَا بَيْنَهُمْ ، كَمَا قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْبَرَ " .
Aslam, who was the freed slave of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), says: I heard Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saying that if I remain alive until next year, then whichever town or city is conquered, I will distribute it among the conquerors just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed Khaybar.
