It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that I used to serve the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When I finished my work, I would come to the mosque and lie down. One day, while I was lying down, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and nudged me with his blessed foot. I sat up straight. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Abu Dharr! What will you do when you are expelled from Madinah?" I replied, "I will return to Masjid Nabawi and my house." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "And when you are expelled from there as well, what will you do?" I replied, "At that time, I will take my sword and whoever tries to expel me, I will strike him with my sword." Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand on my shoulder and said three times, "Abu Dharr! Be forgiving, go wherever they take you, even if your ruler is an Abyssinian slave." Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when I was exiled to Rabadhah and the prayer was established, a black man who was in charge of the zakat animals stepped forward to lead the prayer. When he saw me, he stepped back and wanted to bring me forward, but I said to him, "You remain in your place; I will act upon the command of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
