It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fixed Dhu’l-Hulaifah as the miqat for the people of Madinah, Juhfah for the people of Sham, Yalamlam for the people of Yemen, and Qarn for the people of Najd, and said: “These places are miqat for the residents of these areas as well as for those who pass through them—who intend to perform Hajj and Umrah. And whoever’s house is behind the miqat, he should enter into ihram from where he starts, until the people of Makkah, their ihram will be from where they begin.”
