حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عُتَيٍّ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا تَعَزَّى بِعَزَاءِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ ، قَالَ أُبَيٌّ كُنَّا نُؤْمَرُ " إِذَا الرَّجُلُ تَعَزَّى بِعَزَاءِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، فَأَعِضُّوهُ بِهَنِ أَبِيهِ وَلَا تَكْنُوا " . .
Isma'il narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, from 'Utayy, that a man expressed condolences in the manner of the Jahiliyyah, and he mentioned the hadith. Ubayy said: We used to be commanded, "If a man expresses condolences in the manner of the Jahiliyyah, then tell him to bite his father's private part and do not use euphemisms."
