Zirr narrated from Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "How many verses do you recite in Surah Al-Ahzab?" Zirr replied, "A little more than seventy verses." He said, "When I recited this Surah to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), it was equal to Surah Al-Baqarah or even longer, and it contained the verse of stoning (that if a married man and woman commit adultery, then stone them to death; this is a punishment prescribed by Allah, and Allah is Mighty, Wise)."
