حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ زِرٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ ، فَقَالَ : " قِيلَ لِي ، فَقُلْتُ " قَالَ أُبَيٌّ ، فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَنَحْنُ نَقُولُ . .
‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from ‘Asim, from Zir, who said: Ubayy ibn Ka‘b narrated to me, he said: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about the two chapters of seeking refuge (al-Mu‘awwidhatayn), and he said: “It was said to me, so I said.” Ubayy said: So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to us, so we say. .
