حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُمَاHadith of Abd Allah ibn Abbas from Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with them)

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ أُبَيًّا ، قَالَ لِعُمَرَ " يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، إِنِّي تَلَقَّيْتُ الْقُرْآنَ مِمَّنْ تَلَقَّاهُ " ، وَقَالَ عَفَّانُ مِمَّنْ يَتَلَقَّاهُ ، مِنْ جِبْرِيلَ وَهُوَ رَطْبٌ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), "O Commander of the Faithful! I have received the Holy Qur'an freshly from the one who received it from Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him)."
