حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ جَدِّهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَوْ رَجُلًا ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ ؟ قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنْ شِئْتَ " ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Should I perform a new ablution after eating goat meat?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you wish." Then the narrator mentioned the complete hadith. Abdullah says that I heard Hajjaj bin Sha'ir asking my father, "Who is more preferable in your view, Umar Naqid or Mu'ayti?" He replied, "Umar Naqid strives to seek the truth in speech."
