حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، " أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جُرِحَ فَآذَتْهُ الْجِرَاحَةُ ، فَدَبَّ إِلَى مَشَاقِصَ فَذَبَحَ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ ، فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " ، وَقَالَ : كُلُّ ذَلِكَ أَدَبٌ مِنْهُ ، هَكَذَا أَمْلَاهُ عَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ ، وَلَا أَحْسَبُ هَذِهِ الزِّيَادَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ قَوْلِ شَرِيكٍ قَوْلَهُ : ذَلِكَ أَدَبٌ مِنْهُ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wounded. When the pain from his wounds increased, he cut open his chest with a knife (committed suicide). Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not offer his funeral prayer.
