It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering the sermon while standing. Therefore, if anyone among you states that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in any position other than standing, he is stating incorrectly. However, sometimes it would happen that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would come there and, seeing that the number of people was small, would sit down. When the people arrived, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would stand up and deliver the sermon.
