It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) muezzin would give the call to prayer (adhan), he would wait for a while and would not say the iqamah until he saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had come out. When he saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had come out, he would then begin the iqamah.
