حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةِ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نُخْرِجَ الْعَوَاتِقَ ، وَالْحُيَّضَ ، وَذَوَاتِ الْخُدُورِ ، فَأَمَّا الْحُيَّضُ فَيَعْتَزِلْنَ الْمُصَلَّى ، وَيَشْهَدْنَ الْخَيْرَ ، وَالدَّعْوَةَ مَعَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to command us that young girls and women in their menses should also go out for the Eid prayer so that they may participate in goodness and the occasion of the Muslims’ supplication, but the women in their menses should stay away from the rows of those performing the prayer.
