حَدَّثَنَا غَسَّانُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زَيْدٍ ثَابِتُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ ، قَالَتْ : كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ بَايَعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَكَانَ فِيمَا أَخَذَ عَلَيْنَا " أَنْ لَا نَنُوحَ ، وَلَا نُحَدِّثَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ إِلَّا مَحْرَمًا " .
Hazrat Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that I was among those women who pledged allegiance to the Prophet (peace be upon him). Among the conditions that the Prophet (peace be upon him) set when taking our pledge was that you will not wail (over the dead) and you will not speak to any man without a mahram.
