حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، وَيَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ ، قَالَتْ : " أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي أَنْ نُخْرِجَ الْعَوَاتِقَ ، وَذَوَاتِ الْخُدُورِ ، وَالْحُيَّضَ ، يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ، فَأَمَّا الْحُيَّضُ ، فَيَعْتَزِلْنَ الْمُصَلَّى ، وَيَشْهَدْنَ الْخَيْرَ وَدَعْوَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ " ، قَالَتْ : قِيلَ : أَرَأَيْتَ إِحْدَاهُنَّ لَا يَكُونُ لَهَا جِلْبَابٌ ؟ قَالَ " فَلْتُلْبِسْهَا أُخْتُهَا مِنْ جِلْبَابِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May my parents be sacrificed for them! Young veiled girls and menstruating women should go out for the prayer so that they may participate in goodness and the occasion of the Muslims’ supplication. However, menstruating women should stay away from the rows of those who are praying." Someone asked, "Tell us, if a woman does not have a cloak, what should she do?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Her sister should cover her with her own cloak."
