حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مَنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " نَعَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عِرْقِ النَّسَا أَنْ تُؤْخَذَ أَلْيَةُ كَبْشٍ عَرَبِيٍّ لَا عَظِيمَةٌ وَلَا صَغِيرَةٌ ، فَيُذِيبَهَا ، فَتُجَزَّأَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ ، فَيَشْرَبَ عَلَى رِيقِ النَّفَسِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ جُزْءٌ " .
It is narrated from an Ansari companion that the Prophet (peace be upon him) prescribed the following treatment for the disease of sciatica: Take the fat of an Arabian ram, which should be neither very large nor very small, melt it, and divide it into three parts. Drink one part of it on an empty stomach each day.
