حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ رِئَابٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مَنْ بَنِي أُقَيْشٍ ، قَالَ : مَعَهُ كِتَابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " صِيَامُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ يُذْهِبُ وَحَرَ الصَّدْرِ " .
It is narrated from a man of Banu Aqeesh, who also had a letter from the Prophet (peace be upon him), that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Fasting three days every month keeps malice away from the chest.
