Hadith 20726

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، قَالَ : ابْنُ عَوْنٍ حَدَّثَنَا ، عَنْ جَمِيلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَلِيحٍ ، عَنْ نُبَيْشَةَ ، قَالَ : ذُكِرَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُنَّا نَعْتِرُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، قَالَ : " اذْبَحُوا لِلَّهِ فِي أَيِّ شَهْرٍ مَا كَانَ ، وَبَرُّوا اللَّه وَأَطْعِمُوا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Nubaisha (may Allah be pleased with him) that once people asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah, in the days of ignorance we used to offer a sacrifice in the month of Rajab. What do you command us regarding this?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You may slaughter (the sacrifice) in the name of Allah in whichever month you wish. Do good deeds for the sake of Allah and feed the people."
